The Hong Kong Prize recognizes outstanding artistic achievements by Chinese and Hong Kong-based artists. Winners receive a cash prize of HK$500,000 as well as having their work displayed at M+ in September 2025.

Hong Kong Film Awards handed out top prizes to local and international films at their ceremony, including Detective Vs Sleuths which earned four awards, such as best new performer for 10-year-old Sahal Zaman, best director Wai Ka-Fai, best supporting actress Yeoh for her performance, best director award Wai Ka-Fai and best supporting actress award for Yeoh for her part in this movie.
This week also brought the Hong Kong Marathon, with prize money raised to support local runners. As part of its title sponsorship from Standard Chartered Hong Kong, which increased prize money for Marathon Challenge category by 10% so more people would sign up. Any permanent Hong Kong resident completing their race within three hours for men and three hours 30 minutes for women will qualify to claim a special incentive prize (HK$10,000).
Hong Kong Jockey Club has increased prize money for Group 2 and 3 races in order to attract more high-quality horses. Group 2 will now boast total prize money of HK$4.5 million, an increase of 5.9%; furthermore, up to 3.4% in purse increases for Class 1 to Griffin races will also take place.

Multiple athletes have already achieved Olympic success. Fencing star Vivian Kong won an individual epee gold medal while swimmer Siobhan Haughey nabbed two bronze medals for Hong Kong. As well as receiving prize money from The Jockey Club, athletes may also receive an incentive award of up to HK$12 million under Lam Tai Fai College’s Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme; this award will include up to six million for silver medallists and three million for bronze medallists respectively. A 29-year-old mistakingly believed he won the Olympic gold medal and visited the lottery office twice this morning, seeking proof of this win from staff. When told he did not, he refused to leave; when police were summoned he was eventually coaxed out.
