The SGP Prize recognizes cities who demonstrate leadership in meeting challenges and creating vibrant and sustainable urban communities globally. This year’s prize also acknowledges organizations and individuals for helping these cities realize their visions; its winner will receive a sum of money to amplify their efforts further; this distinction also goes out to cities which demonstrate exceptional innovation when implementing various solutions to problems they are experiencing.
The prize will be divided between two categories, City Leaders Category and Urban Innovation Category. City Leaders Category will recognize cities demonstrating innovation in their implementation of urban planning, management and renewal strategies; Urban Innovation Category will recognize initiatives providing social, economic and environmental benefits to citizens of their city.
Both categories have a total prize pool of S$100,000. Category winners will each receive an award of S$25,000 while any remaining funds will be divided among finalists and announced during a ceremony later in 2019.
