Swimming can be an excellent way to cool off and improve fitness in Hong Kong’s sizzling summer heat, but not all pools offer equal facilities: some feature sweeping city skyline views while others feature luxurious interior design such as floor-to-ceiling windows that make one feel like they’re on their own luxury liner.
If you’re planning to relocate with children to Hong Kong, consider their location and whether there are swimming facilities nearby. Larger developments with multiple towers often have 50-metre outdoor pools as well as smaller indoor ones; these offer the ideal way for them to meet other children while burning off energy while they splash around!
For those in search of an idyllic swimming experience, look no further than Kerry Hotel in Hung Hom. Their infinity pool overlooks Hung Hom’s harbourfront and non-hotel guests can purchase day passes for $500 during weekdays or $700 on weekends; keen swimmers will find plenty of heated lap swimming lanes while loungers will find sunbeds and chairs to relax upon.
Alternatively, if you’re staying in Causeway Bay and would like a refreshing dip before hitting town, head over to Wan Chai Swimming Pool – conveniently located within walking distance from either Diamond Hill or Choi Hung MTR stations and clearly signposted. Plus it has a locker room!
Nearly half of Hong Kong’s public pools may consider closing lanes and facilities used for swimming lessons this summer, according to a union warning – raising fears classes might be cancelled. Twenty of 45 public pools informed swimming clubs they couldn’t operate all their facilities without providing an explanation.
The union warned that partial opening would impact swimmers and swimming clubs as well as hinder city sports development, with no clear solution from government yet in terms of how best to address this problem and ensure enough lifeguards were present to oversee all pools.
Hong Kong will loosen some coronavirus restrictions this summer, permitting bars and pool complexes to reopen while gatherings of more than four people are still banned by health authorities. Many families are visiting local pools to take a refreshing dip, with below being some of the top Hongkong pools this summer.
